Billy Ray McClintock November 18, 1932 - October 6, 2012
age 79, liking 44 day to making it to 80
Greensboro: Mr. Billy Ray McClintock, 79, passed away on Saturday, October 6,
2012 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9 at McLeansville
Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
Bill was born on November 8, 1932 in Randolph County to the late Otis and Martha
Teague McClintock. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired from
Sears, where he worked as a router in the Traffic Department of the Catalog
Department. As a young boy he developed a love for hunting quail which continued
throughout his life. He was an avid checker player and was a member of the NC
Checker Federation. He played checkers in several states in national and
international tournaments. Bill was a dedicated Christian man. He attended
Piedmont Bible College and graduated from Greensboro Bible Institute, and taught
Sunday school for over 50 years. Along with his wife, he did volunteer work at
Evergreens and Ashton Place. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather,
who was always willing to help and encourage others.
He was preceded in death by his son, Calvin McClintock and sister, Jo Anne
Reeves.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 58 years, Frances
Casstevens McClintock; son, Jeff McClintock; sister, Nell Blankenship; and
granddaughter, Sarah Ann McClintock.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. on Monday at Forbis & Dick
Pleasant Garden Chapel.
